I'm an x wife of a 15yr marriage of 10 of them I was a stay home wife /mother of 2 boys (ages now 8 & 10). My x is making $100,000 yr with California state employee nice retirement plan and room for promotions but decided the offers in the past just because he didn't want to advance to the next ranking. I was ordered temp spouse support of $740 during the divorce proceeding (which took over 2 yrs to finalize and I have since then falling into collections of marriageable credit cards that his name was not the primary card holder and his name was taken off after he charged his lawyer initial fee of $3500) We went to trail at which he was awarded the Harley and the boat was to be put up for sale and he receive $2300 for the up keep of the boat (Btw boat only worth 3000 according to his research) . He didn’t put the boat up for sale. He filed an order to show cause to receive the boat in loot of my payment to him that was ordered for previous storage fees and payment of the boat (Btw boat was stored at our house until a week after he left the home and put it in storage himself). I received the all the furniture that I didn’t ask for since I was forced to move 1800sq ft home into a 900sqft low income apt. ½ martial debits & my spousal support cut $700month and stopping in Jan 09. (Btw have over 30,000 in debt collections and my credit score is dropping fast from 767)
Now remember I haven’t had a job in 10 years and still don’t have one. I have a hair dresser licensed but only worked in that field for 1 ½ years and that was 12 yrs ago. Since then I have had car accidents and chronic back pain and tendentious in my right elbow. Just one of this injuries keeps a person out of this field of work and all 3 is impossible to do work in this field again.
How can I become self supportive because I’m can’t even afford my basic needs
I’ve tried to start but since I have no family or any real friends that could help me with day care and their father he isn’t going to do anything that will help me. Plus he now has a live in girlfriend and her 3 girls. (Btw his girl friend was one of my good friends. Her daughters are same age as our boys and we where neighbors but this isn’t the woman that made him attempt to walk out of the house Christmas Eve 2006)
I do have a long term goal of going to college as full time student for 4+ yrs to receive my RN degree and then work in one of the local hospitals. This is a very doable plan if I had the right support amount from my x. plus the child support is not calculated right.
Basically in a nut shell I need a help in the legal field to fight for my rights as an x wife and as a citizen of the United States. He has completely had the courts swayed to his favor and left me and even our boys with so much debt that we are drowning. I can’t get any assistance cuz with both child support and spousal support we make $120 over the amount for the assistance.
I posted a brief blog of what is happening in my life in mid Dec and allowed anyone to see into my life from their computers which isn't easy to do as ya'll should know for yourself. No one has reached out their hand to me. not anyone has shown any concern of my cituation. But if I were to be killed everyone would stand there and say I wished I would of just helped she may still be here. Dont wait until that happens . Its TO COSTLY.
